In Washington, vaccines are free for all children ages 18 and under. For adults, the cost of vaccines is fully covered by most private health insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid. Programs are available to assist people who do not have insurance.

Free immunization programs

Children and youth 18 and under can receive free vaccines from through many doctor's offices, clinics, and pharmacies. The full cost of vaccination will be covered by your insurance or by the state Vaccines for Children program. Contact your regular healthcare provider to schedule an appointment. Free vaccines for children are also offered by the state's mobile Care-a-Van program. Click here and scroll to the bottom of the page for a schedule of upcoming clinics.

Adults who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover vaccines can receive some vaccines for free through the Adult Vaccine Program. You can use this map to find providers participating in this program. Call ahead to make sure they have the vaccine you need and are accepting patients.

COVID-19 vaccines are covered by most insurance plans and available for free for adults whose insurance does not cover the full cost of vaccination. Go to vaccines.gov to find locations.
